Chakra is simply stated, the energy you use when doing a jutsu. Basically, to do ninjutsu or genjutsu, you must mix your chakra, which is bodily energy collected from cells throughout the body,and spirtiual energy ,which is gained through experiences. Then by doing the proper hand poses seals, the jutsu can be activated. Once chakra is activated, various techniques and movements can be used. Without chakra a ninja wouldn't be able to do much.

Though you need chakra for genjustu and ninjustu, taijustu is a different matter. But we'll leave that for another class.

There are alot of different chakra-types a ninja can mold.

But all you need to know currently is the normal chakra and healing chakra

Normal chakra can be used for most skills, simple ninjustu and genjustu. But you'll need alot of it to do higher justu's.

Healing chakra is used by medical ninja's. It can heal any physical damage on ones body. The user of this chakra focuses the chakra to their hands and touches the the injured spot to begin healing.
